What is the best board game of all time?
We posed this question on Facebook and Twitter, and after seeing the feedback we came to the realization that the above is a loaded question. So many caveats must be addressed: classic or current? Do card games count? Does ‘Monopoly’ cover all incarnations or is ‘Star Wars Monopoly‘ considered a different game?
We are joined by the one and only eclectik – host of the eclectik discussion Podcast and member of the Cold Slither Podcast. eclectik recently ranked his Top 10 Board Games of All Time, so rather than reinvent the wheel, we had him break down the Top 3.
We even developed our own version of an old favorite, and gave it a spin on the air.
In this episode:
- We play a live on-air game of SCOOPergories
- Are the Hippos still Hungry? Can’t they find an All-You-Can-Eat Marble Bar?
- Favorite childhood board game
- Favorite current board game
- Tank loves the gag (“Friggin’ Freak”)

Where was the “Don’t Whiz on the Electric Fence” discussion?
were we supposed to cover Ren & Stimpy?
I call shenanigans on my co-host Eclectik’s win. There was no Sue Storm in the 80’s. The first ever Fantastic Four movie was in 1994.
But either way, a great game of Scoopergories! Enjoy that asterisk, E!
For you Monopoly lovers, there is a great documentary called Under the Boardwalk: The Story of Monopoly. Check it out if you can. There’s all kinds of crazy stat breakdowns that can make you a shark.
The pros say that if you don’t finish the game in 2 hours tops, you’re not doing it right =)
OOH gotta pick that up. Any potential EDGE I can gain on my opponents…
