The @starwars and @Marvel Twitter accounts engaged in an exchange yesterday that would redeem the social media platform for even the most jaded users.
It started innocently enough:
@starwars Can we borrow some lightsabers? We have…science…to do. #AskStarWars
— Marvel Entertainment (@Marvel) January 23, 2014
(I’m convinced Marvel’s Twitter account was being run by Deadpool yesterday. Who else would ask for some lightsabers (to “do science”?)
Star Wars’ response is perfect in every way and is what makes Twitter so fun.

From there it just keeps getting better. There are more trade offers, from Mace Windu for Nick Fury (get it?) to Deadpool for Boba Fett. There are threats, including ewoks using Iron Man helmets as drums, escalating to Marvel’s tossing of their obligatory “We have a Hulk” trump card, only to be aced by Star Wars’ ‘We have a Wookiee’ reply (I’m paraphrasing, but you get it). If nothing else, the daydream you’ll have about Wolverine vs. Chewbacca makes it all worthwhile.
See? Chimichangas. Deadpool for sure. Who else would make the Cantina their first stop in the Star Wars galaxy?

This should be happening more often, not just with these two entities owned by the same company, but in general. I wonder if it would be possible to interview the people that run the accounts…
That was great. It leaves me wanting for more. Woukdn’t a random Star Wars Easter Egg in a Marvel movie or vice versa be great?
