Podcast #142 – What if ‘The Force Awakens’ Sucks?

by Corey Chapman @chapmanrunner on September 30, 2015

in Podcast, Star Wars

Joe and Corey tackle the question no one wants to ask: What if Star Wars: The Force Awakens does not live up to the hype and it’s more Phantom Menace than A New Hope? Will it effect Episodes 8 & 9? Will Disney bat an eyelash if it’s a box office success but critical failure?

I didn’t like the force awakens. I think it’s an absolutely absurd movie. The last half hour is a no sense half hour.

“The killer or stars”, or death star 3, is an absolutely absurd weapon.
Would not it have been better than the good guys had evacuated the planet?
The bad guys shoot and cripple his own weapon. A weapon designed to create terror. What kind of terror? If they can only fire 2 times! On the other hand, the beam is split in space. It divides!!!! Totally absurd.
The force awakens had broken the American box office records? Why? If it is a kind of bad and senseless comic. Of course Avatar is a better movie by far. At least it was beautiful, it made sense and was getting emotional. The force awakens movie fails to thrill at all.

It is an empty movie without emotion. When the movie ended, there was a kind of discomfort among viewers, knowing that they had not seen a good movie. I think this film should be nominated for Razzie Awards.

I always liked Star wars, but the force awakens did not taste anything. I will not see any of the sequels.

The force awakens is a really bad movie. For me it did not have the slightest sense. The story is totally disconnected from the other films. I did not like anything the bad guys. The force awakens is the worst movie of the year. the story of the movie did not feel anything real. The force awakens is a movie without emotions, absurd and ridiculous.
