With the upcoming release of The Avengers in North America, I browsed
YouTube to select these fine examples either spoofing or re-imagining Earth’s
Mightiest Heroes. Check out these four fantastic videos:
The Avengers “Premake”
It’s hard for me to imagine what a 1950s superhero blockbuster would look like.
Then I found this premake, a compilation of old movie clips to create a “new”
trailer, with the Skrulls threatening to take over Earth. Inspired movie choices
and classic stars such as Yul Brenner and Diana Rigg add to the appeal.
Justice Friends
The wacky characters of Dexter’s Laboratory: tortured genius Dexter, annoying
sister Dee Dee, experiment-turned-superape Dial M for Monkey. Also in the mix
are the Justice Friends, a typical superhero parody.
Make exaggerated versions of popular heroes? Check. Give them sitcom plots? Check. Have them star in a fruit pie commercial? Yes! I was amused by the team, but creator GenndyTartakovsky wasn’t pleased.
Iron Baby
This is an awesome, well-done trailer. Patrick Boivin and his crew left me
wanting more adventures. I’ll watch Iron Baby blasting away childhood fears over
teenage Tony Stark.
Marvel Zombies The Movie Fan Trailer
Remember Marvel cashing in on the undead craze? This trailer features a gruesome
Spider-Man and a very freaky Hulk. The focus in this trailer is horror, with good
makeup work done on the zombies. Stick around at the end for another eerie
Avenger appearance.

LOL, how awesome are we? We just posted the premake to our site too! Psyched about this movie coming out this week. Some great spoofs!
Ha! I saw that. You even put in the frame-by-frame analysis video. I’m going to check that out later. 😀
Thank you for reading!
Great sites think alike! That reminds me of Joe A Day posting about the Zartan V2 figure the day before I published the list of “GIJOE character redesigns you might have missed”, of which that Zartan design was the top character. We run in a tightly knit circle, it is cool that we all help support each other and spread the word. Thanks to both of you (CSP and RHM) for all you do.
