Apoca-LIST | 10 Epic Rock Songs Worthy Of Your Last Request

Time now for another Apoca-LIST – a weekly examination of how pop culture and entertainment fit in with the end of days.

Let’s face it. The odds are against you in an apocalypse. While you must maintain confidence in survival, it never hurts to plan for the worst.

In the slow death that was the Titanic tragedy, it’s well known that the band kept on playing. They didn’t do it for people to have one last Waltz before they became floating popsicles in the Atlantic. Instead, they did it for the love of music- one final chance to play as they drifted into oblivion.

That’s why I suggest adding an old cassette boombox and a pack of batteries to your survival kit. That’s right, when electricity is a thing of the past and your “80s favorites” playlist on Spotify is worthless, you’ll still be able to rock out one last time.

Here are 10 epic rock songs worthy of being your last request in the event of an apocalypse:

Jon Bon Jovi | Blaze of Glory

If you choose this song, I’d recommend adding a leather vest to your survival kit. For survival.

Lita Ford w/Ozzy | Close My Eyes Forever

The perfect song to play you out if you’re attacked by vampire bats.

Imagine Dragons | Radioactive

Breathe in those chemicals, baby.

Journey | Don’t Stop Believin’

If it’s good enough for the mafia, then an apocalypse should be a cakewalk.

Cinderella | Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone)

That awkward moment when all you have left is this song.

Mötley Crüe | Home Sweet Home

When nothing keeps you together at the seams, it’s time to head home.

Slaughter | Fly To the Angels

Wait in your bunker several months to grow a full mullet before using this song.

R.E.M. | It’s The End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

Sometimes you gotta lie to yourself…and just shout alot of jibberish to confuse your attackers.

AC/DC | Hells Bells

Bells are a good substitute for a 21 gun salute.

Blue Oyster Cult | Don’t Fear The Reaper

Be sure to include a “No Fear” shirt and hat in your survival kit to go with this song.
