So, by ‘totally’ I mean ‘it’s still speculation’, but Lucasfilm has begun to establish a pattern- a pattern that could pay off with a Star Wars Episode VII teaser trailer of some kind on October 30.
If that’s the case, you can count on me spending Halloween as happy and carefree as Carrie in that picture above.
Comicbook.com points out that Lucasfilm released the original Star Wars teaser trailer on Wednesday October 9, and then a teaser for The Empire Strikes Back on October 16. If a Return of the Jedi trailer is released tomorrow, that’s a strong indicator that something big looms for the following Wednesday, which happens to be the one year anniversary of Disney announcing they had bought all the Star Wars.
Side note: looking back on it a year later, the Disney acquisition of Lucasfilm has kind of become a geek “Where Were You When __ ?” touchstone. Me? I was sitting in a Barnes & Noble reading volume 2 of Scott Snyder’s American Vampire, a book, by the way, that you should definitely read and would make a fantastic cable television series.
Anyway, we’ll be waiting to see if something drops tomorrow to strengthen the pattern and lend more credence to the buzz. If something Episode VII-related is in fact released next week, what do you think it will be? A teaser? Casting news? An Episode VII LEGO set that will spoil major plot points? Wouldn’t be the first time!

I was on a cruise ship. I didn’t hear until November 4th – but our bus driver that was taking us back to the station where our car was parked saw my Star Wars shirt and told me as soon as I got on the bus.
Thinking about that.. They popped the first trailer for the prequels around November also…
