The sidekick.

Who would Sherlock Holmes say witty things to if he didn’t have Watson?

Who would Batman impart with fatherly superhero advice if there was no Robin?

Who would Fred Flintstone relentlessly berate if he didn’t have Barney Rubble?

We examine and discuss a field of the best #2s in history, narrowing the discussion down from 30 sidekicks to the best 8, which the listeners can vote on to determine the best #2 in history! Listen to the show to hear how we arrived at these 8, and click here to vote! We’ll reveal the winner on Episode #37.

BONUS CONTENT! On last week’s Star Wars themed podcast, Episode #35 – Attack of the Hashtag, we promised an interview with one of the best Star Wars parody accounts on Twitter, @DeathStarPR.

At long last we were able to catch up with the voice of the Galactic Empire and we’ve included it in this episode! Check out the interview here, then click over to DeathStarPR.com for a very entertaining site and stay tuned for their upcoming web series!

Classick Material May 16, 2012 at 11:40 pm

I read the title for this podcast and immediately thought of the 80’s action series with Ernie Reyes, Jr. and Gil Gerard…!

Or better yet, the 90’s movie with Chuck Norris and the late Jonathan Brandis!

Either way, looking forward to this episode!

HAH! I had forgotten about both of them. Hey, when we run out of topics we might HAVE to examine those masterpieces.

Finally The Scoops are back with the Fun and the Funny
(Shoutouts to Billy Crystal)

Great show … I skipped the majority of the Tie me Kangaroo down sport portion, but it seemed good, just not for me

I DO have beef with this show as I had planned a sidekick show for the #EDP …a little different but damnit nonetheless lol

Well done, you couldve planned the dang tourney out but form an impromptu joint it was done masterfully

Howie said that he “Loved the D” AND he’d Lay Spock and Pippen in front of his wife … that is NOT PG friends.

The Scoopin it segment was back and I love the melodic songbird that is Mr. Chapman

If There wasnt just a Star Wars show Id have Googs on to talk some Jedi with me … I may still have a idea rattling around

Tank is listening to my show now so no beef … but Scarface …. damnit!

Other Beef is I had a board game show planned too … F balls!

I even blogged about my Movie Premise last month:

“There’s an alien invasion, the alien has been inhabiting human bodies and controlling them telepathically … we corner the alien and wound it
but THEN we notice cities of people are getting sick!
… they are all linked to the alien (oh no!)
So we get our top physician that we didn’t listen to earlier in the movie (he’s all disgruntled)
and he says we have to perform surgery on the alien to eliminate the links he have to the humans … but it has to be done right!
Summer 2014
… Operation: The Movie
“don’t touch the sides”

Great show! The funny is back!

Great minds continue to think alike. (That’s the tag line for the 2015 summer blockbuster Taboo)

Excellent Outback Jack reference

We will certainly do SW again, and if you do, me and Googs are always game.

LOVE that Operation movie plot. Can the disgruntled doc be Jeff Goldblum?

@eclectik May 17, 2012 at 3:55 pm

… And another thing!

If I were on the show I would’ve brought up:

Dynomutt
Shirley
Cole
DMC
G – Money
Semi
Oates
Balki
Cherie
and … Sprout!

Googs and I mentioned Shirley and Oates during the first brainstorm, but were they really #2s to Laverne and Hall respectively? Balki was the clear #1 there, Sprout is a great call.

@eclectik May 18, 2012 at 3:53 am

They were DEFINITELY #2s to them … the name even came second and neither did anything solo

Semi to Prince Akeem woulda been good

No one wanted a DMC solo lol

But in Googs we trust …

Another that we had on our list but forgot to mention on the show was Jazzy Jeff (someone on FB reminded me)
