UnderScoopFire Podcast #30 – Most Anticipated Geek Things Q2

Back to basics.

It’s been a busy month at UnderScoopFire. We just wrapped up WrestleMania Week, and as part of that we welcomed a WWE Hall of Famer to our show. We wrapped a few interviews with very special guests (some of which recorded, some not as much), and we’ve booked a few more future special guests.

As happy as we are to be hosting these guests, it’s nice to get back to the recording roundtable and discuss some serious business – Spring 2012 and all the geek joy it brings. Before we look forward, we look back at what we were anticipating in Q1 2012, and see how those prospects panned out.

A sample of what we discussed in Episode #30:

  • Dyngus Day
  • The Avengers, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Prometheus, The Cabin in the Woods
  • Kickstarter – Hashtag Project
  • Tank’s winning Mega Millions ticket
  • Contest updates for Stache Madness & Slither Madness
nope.

Not Aaron Neville sings a medley of requests, PorkChop Sideburns the Jm J Bullock Robot returns, and we preview the movie “F*ckbot 87” …don’t ask. Also, PorkChop is looking forward to a WWE Pay Per View that doesn’t exist anymore.

Batman fans – follow @lehall504 on Twitter. Sick Batman knowledge. Oh, and we’d say follow @eclectik and @podcastEDP too, but you probably already do. Check out EDP Episode 6 – The Batcave Murders (if you haven’t already).

Nice job guys. Wish I was there to share in the laughs live. Def. got a few laughs listening to the replay!

Another classic roundtable, even nought Joe was missing, it was full of laugh out loud moments. I swear that some people heard me as I drove past them while listening.

Great show … even though the Voltron was Southpaw (No Joe) … still great

No way avengers disappoints … Im thinking TDKR has a better chance to disappoint (Batman Begins was better than TDK) … UNLESS they go into all the murders Bruce committed … then THAT will rock!

#DickSlammys newcomer of the year: Porkchop Sideburns and Moobs!

Wait. is THIs the movie where Fuck bot 87 gets caught changing Rosie from the Jetsons oil?

Props to Howie for debuting The Sexy scoop (To Googs) and The Force scoop (To Chap)

I Appreciate the love for the show and the Link … HEY I finally did a show you guys liked enough to mention #appreciation

From what I heard on the Robotech message boards was Joe’s “Assignment” wasnt really an assignment at all … he was gettin his armor reforged
(Adamantium, Carbon, Cookie sheet, and reynolds wrap *2-Ply*)

Not Aaron rocked it … that medley was divine

Fun to be had by all … now lemme copy+paste this into iTunes for a review

What ever you guys are paying NotAaronNeville, you need to double it. That montage was brilliant!

Howie Decker April 6, 2012 at 10:37 am

Easy to double nothing! We’ll call him in this afternoon and let him know he has a raise coming. Thanks for the feedback, I’m always afraid the constant silliness will turn people off.

eclectik April 5, 2012 at 5:42 am

Hey, who reads these things?

Howie Decker April 6, 2012 at 10:36 am

The comments? I do! Problem is, the short ones are easy to respond to. I can’t just pop in and drop a “Thanks for listening” fly by on your comments, I have to really map that reply out. Best way I can give back to a hall of fame level effort like yours is to wait until I finish your next ep of EDP and leave as best a comment I can there. That seems to be a nice working relationship.

Shout outs to Terry Porter, TrailBlazin’.
