The UnderScoopFire Brigade Hall of Fame – Class of September 2012

by Howie Decker @HowardTheDeck on September 26, 2012

in Culture

These folks are the best – they shamelessly share every one of our links on Facebook and Twitter, regardless of how silly the headline is.

They recall their favorite topics from our podcasts and mention them via their social networks. They regularly leave comments on our site, even when the discussion is about things like Copper Kidd from The Silverhawks getting busted on To Catch a Predator. (seriously, thank you.)

Thank you for encouraging us.

Click here to see who was inducted in August – the First Class of the UnderScoopFire Brigade Hall of Fame!

If you don’t see your name in the first two classes, it is NOT because we don’t appreciate you greatly or haven’t noticed – it’s because we wanted to spread the inductions over the months – what fun would it be to put everyone in at once?

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the September class of inductees into the UnderScoopFire Brigade Hall of Fame:

Tom Mathias – inducted by Captain America

The only person to submit a 100% correct Pop Culture Crossword Puzzle, Tom loves to continue the conversations about G.I. Joe, Star Wars, toys, comics, movies and more.

Follow Tom on Twitter @More0_0Than.

We recognize Tom for his steadfast daily comments, Facebook likes, and for sharing our links on Twitter.

ShezCrafti – inducted by Raphael

Daily commenter. Frequent re-tweeter. Podcast guest. What more can we say?

Despite a Three’s Companian misunderstanding regarding age differences, we have forged a strong relationship with this TMNT-obsessed child of the 80s. Jaime Hood has a wildly entertaining blog, where you’ll find daily musings on things like video games, Batman, The Muppets, loved but forgotten junk food, and the genius of Kenny Powers.

Check out ShezCrafti on our podcast, where we define a “spoiler” and discuss Corey Feldman’s availability. We chat about all the great geek things from the 3rd quarter of 2012 (Breaking Bad, TMNT toys, Dark Knight Rises, Paranorman & more).

If you haven’t seen the TMNT Infographic she contributed, do yourself a favor and check it out.

William B. West – inducted by K.I.T.T.

Besides the frequent comments and social network shares, WBW has provided sage advice since the early days of UnderScoopFire.

West has been blogging for years, and truly has forgotten more about pop culture than most will ever know. His knowledge of the comic book industry was on full display in episode 52 of the Nerd Lunch Podcast – and it was something to behold.

It was on that episode that he shared his inability to pass up any Knight Rider-themed collectible he finds in his travels. Looking for a K.I.T.T. Big Wheels? He might have an extra.

Meister Shake – inducted by Max Ray

This mega-Alison Brie fan was one of the first podcast listeners to begin regularly continuing the conversations started on our podcast onto Twitter. The term “Dickslam” was all but a throw away line on our show, and we were sure no one would be quite as amused by it as our own Googs. Shake helped take the “#dickslam” to another level, including it in his profile description and incorporating it in many further social networking situations.

The “dickslam” mini-meme is really the best example of you guys encouraging us to keep on being ourselves and letting the silliness fly. For that, we thank you Meister Shake! When Alison Brie was voted Miss UnderScoopFire 2012, it was Meister leading the charge at the ballot box.

Jay Malone – inducted by Rowdy Roddy Piper

While we think of Jay as part of the UnderScoopFire family, as he has contibuted articles and appeared on the podcast, we also recognize him as a leader of the Fire Brigade. His on-site reporting from Star Wars Celebration VI in Orlando was top shelf, and we were proud to have him attend wearing an UnderScoopFire media badge!

A father, podcaster, and fan of all of the same things we love (Star Wars, G.I. Joe, wrestling, comics, etc), JCorduroy (as he is known on Twitter) is a valued source of ideas and feedback for our site and podcast. We sincerely thank him for being a part of it all. One day, when we hold the first ever USF-Con in the parking lot of the Acme Superstore, Jay will be the master of ceremonies.

Keep sharing, commenting and retweeting! Next month we induct a new class into the UnderScoopFire Brigade Hall of Fame – until then, thank you for your continued support!

Congrats on being inducted, all of you! Welcome to the hallowed halls of the USFBHOF! (methinks I spelt that correctly!)

Well-deserved and well-earned! Unfortunately, all of us August inductees are still entertaining the USF Brigadettes, so you’ll have to wait a few days (yuk yuk!)

ShezCrafti October 1, 2012 at 4:15 pm

I don’t know in what universe my blog would be considered “wildly entertaining,” but regardless I am truly humbled, and honored to share this recognition with such noble purveyors of pop culture nerdery.

This is a proud day, friends. For me, for UnderScoopFire, for America.

Brian Morin October 1, 2012 at 4:35 pm

Congratulations to the September inductees. Will we be seeing their busts made of aluminum foil in the yet to be built USF HOF building?

JCorduroy October 1, 2012 at 5:27 pm

Wow – seriously honored to be inducted into the HoF on one of my absolute favorite sites. I don’t know about being a leader of the Fire Brigade, but I’m proud to be part of a great September 2012 class, as well as the USF family.

Seriously, you guys made my day – needed a pick me up today!

Lamar The Revenger October 1, 2012 at 8:24 pm

YAY!! The creator of the GREATEST UNDERSCOOPFIRE PICTURE EVER has been inducted with my unworthy rear! Congrats to all the October Inductees! We gotta behave now, gentlemen.. There’s a lady present.

Lamar The Revenger October 1, 2012 at 8:26 pm

oops I meant September.. the honor of these joining us has overwhelmed me..

ShezCrafti October 1, 2012 at 9:12 pm

I assure you I am no lady.

More0_0Than October 2, 2012 at 7:18 am

Gee guys, ya didn’t have to… I feel a bit like an imposter, I haven’t really contributed anything, I mainly just share the awesome stuff that is found on USF. Oh and BTW if Cap is inducting me I have a set of cards here you think I could get them autographed…

Will October 2, 2012 at 11:10 am

Thank you guys SO much! This is truly an honor. When this site and podcast first appeared, I told Decker “You’re my kind of people”. I’m glad to know that the feeling is mutual.

And to be inducted by K.I.T.T.! It makes the next part so much harder. You see, I have a message. K.I.T.T…. The Knight Industries Two Thousand… was shot down… over the Sea of Japan. It spun in … there were no survivors. This win is for K.I.T.T. May he forever “woo woo” scan in our hearts.

Howie Decker October 2, 2012 at 11:36 am

Oh no! First Henry Blake and now THIS?! When will it end??!

Will October 2, 2012 at 11:46 am

The Korean chopper industry is in sore need of regulation, but most of the funding goes into developing new Kia models. I only hope that I can bring attention to this cause as much as I brought attention to the Brooklyn track suit shortage of ’92.
