The Indian Railway is the biggest industry offering jobs to many individuals and making their career promising. What does a ticket clerk do?

There are specific skills ticket clerks need to carry certain complete responsibilities. Ticket clerk jobs are quite hectic where you will need to travel to different places in the train to keep a track. Similarly, you also need to stay at the station to check tickets of passer byers to ensure they are carrying individual tickets.

There are other internal railway jobs a ticket clerk needs to do. You need to be thorough about different work nature included. Some of the job roles of the ticket clerk cum senior commercial are-

  • Supervising loading of goods if posted in the respective department
  • They are responsible to maintain records of goods delivered
  • You will need to take up paperwork and maintain individual records.

Payout or salary of the Ticket Clerk:

In the initial stage of the job, the ticket clerk will have the basic pay of Rs 21,000 and the overall pay will Rs 21,000. There are different benefits the ticket clerk will get, including HRA, DA, TA and others.

Career Growth of the Ticket Clerk

Commercial ticket clerk has the chance of appearing for the entrance test. After a few years of working, the clerk will be promoted to senior retail cum ticket clerk. The rise in the post will also help in increasing the overall payout.

Preparing for the Ticket Clerk Job

To start with, one needs to be very accurate in handling pressure. On many occasions, the job would be of pressure. However, if you have that skill to take the stress, you can go ahead positively. However, the most critical stage is to prepare for the entrance exam.

The board’s entrance exam is to test if the candidate is eligible for the respective post. There are different sections and subjects you need to work on as a part of preparation. Other than a written exam, the candidate will need to undergo physical and communication tests. During the interview session, the candidate will be tested in verbal communication.

There are four stages of the test-

  • 1st and 2nd stage of the computer-based test
  • Typical Skill Test
  • Document Verification and medical examination.

You need to be very focused on this job. In many cases, the job would be physically and mentally draining. You need to be very accurate in your career and get the best thing in the position.
