5. Flash
Seen on t-shirts everywhere and tattooed on many pro athletes with the gift of speed, The Flash’s logo is one of the all-time greats.
4. Captain America
Iconic and American – perfectly fitting the character. Makes for a hell of a cool shield design, too.
3. Superman
Possibly the most iconic superhero logo in history. Recognizable around the world, this logo set the standard for all other subsequent superhero logos.
2. Batman
It doesn’t get any cooler than this. Okay, well – I guess one logo is cooler…
1. Punisher
Hands down the coolest superhero logo you can wear on a t-shirt- and the best part? The hero it signifies- wears it on a t-shirt.

Yes. A very good list. For the GL logo, the other Lantern Corp logos should be added to the side as spinoffs.
Good call. I almost put the Sinestro Corps logo on the lest, then realized that would be a separate list – Top Supervillain Logos! Some of the other color Corps’ logos are a bit complicated and look too much alike, but some are great. Black Lantern logo is great, Blue Lantern could have been better.
I think you should do another list, I quite enjoyed this one. However, I’d like to point out that Deadpool is not a hero, but a mercenary. He is awesome, and lovable, but too many seem to feel that his popularity makes him a hero. So I’d like to see another list with as many neutral characters as you can find. The aforementioned villain logo list would also be cool.
If you like lists, you’re in the right place! Click the LISTS tab at the top menu, tons of top 5s, top 25s, top 50s, and even some top 100s! Thanks for stopping by.
I’d have put Batman at #1, but these are all great picks. My favorite that didn’t make the cut is the original cartoon logo for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which was also used in the first three live-action films. Of course, I may be a little biased, though. 😉
A good choice as well. I never think of the TMNT as superheroes, I guess I should though. I couldn’t make a good argument against it.
Is the list the coolest, the best looking, or the most recognized?
Good list, I’d change the order a bit but … kudos.
Best, just like it says! But yes, many things factor into the determination of ‘best’ = coolness, recognizability, design, ability to pull ass with the logo on your shirt… oh sorry, I didn’t factor that one in
No Avengers logo? It was in the image preview… Not that I’m complaining, actually not a big fan of the big “A”.
Hey – I had to tease with the logo, or nobody would read the list! (Notice Punisher is not on the teaser) I’m with you, Classick – the ‘A’ doesn’t impress me (which is odd, since the ‘4’ does.
Pretty solid list, there might be a few that didn’t make it tat would have and arguement (the aforementioned Avengers for one) but I don’t know who you’d throw out. I’m glad you added the honorable mention, I’ve always loved the BPRD logo
Thanks Tom – it seems the Avengers logo has gotten some support, but to me it wasn’t as good as any of these 10. Thanks for reading as always Tom!
Id replace X Men for Avengers … but I’d take both off for the Wonder Woman Logo
You’d think Hulk would have a Logo
WW was definitely in the final 12, but she ultimately got edged out. Looks too much like an airline logo.
The Thunderbolts logo was badass. I know they were villains, but they were heroes too…..so, it could have been on the list.
absolutely. Love the Thunderbolts.
Nice article! Here is another article that lists the top 10 super hero logos and the thinking behind each of them: http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/top-10-superhero-logos
Cool! Thanks for the comment
I love logos. The cleaner the design, and the more concise the message the better. One honourable mention might go out to the wonderful logo for the Incredibles. A great movie that sends out a lot of love to the superheroes we all grew up, with an excellent and colourful logo.
hmm, where’s the logo/icon from D.C.’s short run series Wild Dog? That’s one of the best, bad ass logos I’ve ever seen. Guess the miniseries is pretty much unknown to most DC fans unless you were buying comics heavily in the mid 80’s… but I highly recommend it. For it’s time it’s got some of the most over the top violence, surprising from DC at that time, save the watchmen graphic novel… but you’ll be floored by how much death and blood the 4 issue mini series has.
I’ll have to check that out- thanks for the tip! And thanks for the comment!
There is one I would put over several on this list: The Incredibles. It is a simple design, yet more sophisticated than many of the classics. Lower case “i” in bright yellow on a black oval surrounded by an orange-y yellow swirling outline, all on a red background. Plus, I would say that it is more recognized than several of the others, like Deadpool, Spawn or probably even Fantastic Four.
i think Hellboy deserves more than a special mention. Hellboy is so kickass and awesome.
I agree that Hellboy is kickass and awesome, and his logo is cool, but I don’t see it in the same light as these others. It is definitely cool, not arguing that!
cool. im happy the spawn logo was on here.
no one seems to care for spawn nowadays.
he still on of my favs.
It’s way too cool a logo to not list. Thanks for the comment!
Batman and punisher are not super hero’s, they have no super powers. They are regular guys who use weapons
In some purist sense, Punisher and Batman are not SUPER heroes. Doesn’t mean they aren’t badass. The fact that they do what they do WITHOUT SUPERPOWERS…i.e. human vulnerabilities, makes them even more badass. They put it all on the line, every night, knowing that they may not see another sunrise. But they still do it, and for that, they deserve the high rankings.
I would’ve put these in roughly the same order. I think Spiderman’s logo should’ve made the cut, particularly the long-legged spider versions.
I hate to point it out, because it’s really giving my age away, but The Phantom was using the death’s head logo decades before the Punisher (1936 vs 1974)
