Ryan Reynolds-Voiced Deadpool Test Footage Released in HD

in Deadpool, Movies

Let’s be clear- when I say “leaked” I say it with the assumption that someone who is motivated to get this project underway purposely released this 2011 footage to try to get some traction.

The footage below was made over 3 years ago by Tim Miller and his VFX company Blur Studio. It is primarily CGI, with Ryan Reynolds lending voice talent to the onscreen Deadpool character. Keep in mind the fact that Tim Miller is no longer attached, and also the fact that for this movie to be done right, it really needs to have an R rating. Decapitations might be run of the mill for the Merc with a Mouth, but rolling heads don’t typically make for family-friendly comic book action films.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Juice Newton’s Angel of the Morning, so this clip would totally land as a trailer for me. I love the crayon-drawn picture he shows his ultimate victim, as it properly reflects the Deadpool character in the comics- unapologetically immature but painstakingly prepared for every situation.

The initial buzz seems to be positive for this leaked clip, which seems like a consolation prize for anyone holding out hope that we’d hear something (anything) Deadpool at this year’s SDCC.

UPDATE: the footage has now been intentionally released, and in HD!

I liked the footage, they were at least true to the character however, I still believe Pool would be best as a HBO or Showtime series

Gives an opportunity for running jokes, topical humor, celebrity cameos, etc.

which would THEN be perfect
