Marvel movies have become one of the most popular movies on the planet. With the release of the new Avengers: Endgame which is just $60 million away from becoming the highest-grossing movie of all time worldwide, popularity went through the roof. Marvel has many movies and heroes under their name and they all invest a lot of money in the development of their movies. However, sometimes even the best can make mistakes. Eagle-eyed viewers spotted a few mistakes that cannot be unseen. Let’s go through some of them.
- Gamora last survivor
As Thanos is referring to Gamora as his daughter as he adopted her after he invaded the planet and slaughter half the population of Zehoberei. However, in Guardians of the Galaxy, Nova Corpsman Rhomann Dey mentions that Gamora is the last surviving member of her species.
This does not align up with the flashback we saw in Infinity War where Thanos distracted her as his people killed only half of the population. Where did the other half go?
- Black Widow’s deadly hair
When the Black Widow is introduced in The Avengers, obviously they wanted to make her a badass character. In the first scene, Natasha Romanov is tied down to a chair and is obturated with gangsters that want to kill her.
As the scene goes, she swings her head back in order to headbutt one of the gangsters, but he only gets a gentle brush with her hair instead. The gangster was instantly knocked out, maybe she is so badass that even her hair is deadly?!
- Time-Traveling Mixtape
One of the most important things for Peter Quil is the cassette player and tapes that remind him of his mom. However, the problem is that this technology was not available at the time Peter was abducted from Earth by Yondy in 1988, as they are Type II TDK cassette types, which came out in 1993. Maybe Peter’s mom has possessed the technology from the future, or she befriended “Doc” Brown and Marty McFly?
- Thor car repairing service
In the fight scene during the Battle of New York at the end of The Avengers, we can spot a car sitting on the roof all beaten up with dents. However, as the shot gets wider, Thor appears in front of the car and there is not a single dent on it. Maybe the Asgardian has healing hands or he repaired it with his hammer?!
- Speed of Sound
In the first Iron Man movie, Tony Stark shows his new Jericho missile. There is a physics problem with this scene as he launches the rocket into the desert and firstly we hear the explosion and after that, the huge fireball emerges. This is physically impossible as light travels faster than sound. This physics issue has been in more movies such as Thor whenever he causes a sonic boom with his hammer.
- Budget Presidential Airline
In Iron Man 3, we can see the Iron Patriot captured the president in his plane. All the action make sense except the bullet in the window. After shooting inside the presidential plane, we can see a hole in the window, however, in the Air Force One (The Presidential plane) you cannot shoot through windows as they are bulletproof protecting the President from danger. This detail was obviously ignored for the sake of the plot.
- Bucky’s birthday
In Captain America – The Winter Soldier, Steve Rogers visits the museum dedicated to his life. Over there he can see a touching memorial of Bachanan Barnes or in other words his best friend Bucky. However, they seem to don’t know when was Bucky born as the text starts with “Born in 1916” and at the end concludes by listing the dates of his life as 1917-1944.
Some of these mistakes may be minor and no one noticed them, but it is always fun to catch a movie mistake. As Marvel movies go, with all that budget and team they work with, they should easily pay attention to minor details like this. Do you think Marvel standards are getting sloppy or they just throw these mistakes under the rug, like they did with the NFL SuperPro comic book that became a cult object in the 90s?
