Jon Chu’s G.I. Joe sequel has been busy casting this week, with the latest addition being Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights). Palicki is most commonly known as the ‘Wonder Woman we never got to see’, as the pilot was not picked up.
Earlier in the week, it was announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (or maybe he is just “The Rock” again? who knows) had been cast as Roadblock, G.I. Joe’s resident chef and heavy machine gunner. Wu Tang Clan’s The RZA was added as The Hard Master, a character specific to the Larry Hama-written G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero comic series. Actor DJ Cotrona has been cast as Flint, a character who seems to lead most fan polls regarding who they’d like to see most in the sequel, including our very own poll seen here.
The Marvel G.I. Joe comic series also featured a cameo from Joe Colton, who was introduced as ‘the original G.I. Joe’. There is currently a rumor that Bruce Willis is being cast to play this character. Some serious horsepower being put into this sequel; as I have said before it is sounding more like a reboot than a ‘part 2’.
