The 10 Comic Books to Look Forward To Most in 2015

The Walking Dead

If you’re a Walking Dead fan but only watch the AMC series, you’re missing out. It’s real tough to be spoiler free about this book and yet hype the hell out of it, but I’ll try. Rick and friends fought someone that made the Governor look like a pussy cat. Then the book time jumped and we rejoined everyone who was left standing years later, which is right when more bad shit happened. Rick and those who are left grow into leaders – good and bad. The zombies are still around. The threats become crazier and scarier, and there is the tease that this world will become even bigger in 2015.

Fight Club 2

We don’t talk about this. But if we did… we would find out WWTDD 10 years later.

Spider-Verse

Think of all the versions of Spider-Man you’ve ever seen. In anything. The TV show, the cartoons, the movies, the video games. Plus the many many comic interpretations. Now imagine this: they all exist, and there is someone travelling the multiverse killing them off one by one. The remaining Spider-Men and Women will have to team up in order to survive. Along with all of your favorite versions of Spider-Man there are many new ones including…

Spider-Gwen

That’s right. Imagine if Gwen Stacy was bitten by the spider instead of Peter Parker. One of the most simple yet brilliant ideas in years.

Convergence

In our real world, DC Comics is moving their offices from New York to California. This will take awhile to pack everything up and get it set up on the other side of the country, yet the machine has to keep rolling. In the interim, DC will stop publishing all of their regular titles and will instead publish over 40 issues of Convergence. Classic Superman villain Braniac is travelling through the many alternate universes of DC Comics and picking up things along the way. Surely it’s for noble reasons and to ensure peace and joy across the multiverse (there’s that word again). Or there is the slight chance that all will go to hell and some new singular DC Universe will emerge from the ashes.

Secret Wars

This will be huge, and that’s why it’s number one, but it takes some explaining. Marvel also has a multiverse. Damn that word! This summer Marvel will take parts of many of those worlds and form a new planet called Battleworld. Heroes and villains from across time and space will “converge” (oops, wrong company) onto this new world.

This may sound like just a classic beat ’em up, and it might be. But if it’s the other possibility, then its the biggest story in a decade. Comic readers are anticipating that this book will be the culmination of years of Marvel stories. Deaths, rebirths, reboots and more are ahead. This will possibly be a way to simplify some of Marvel’s history and make it more film friendly. It begins with Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver and could end with a changed Spider-Man and Fantastic Four- changed enough to enjoy Peter Parker teaming up with the Avengers on the silver screen.
