Beyond Dikembe Mutombo Blocking Shots & Dracula at a Blood Drive: 5 New GEICO “Happier Than” Commercial Ideas

GEICO commericals. Anyone who watches television regularly has been subjected to the relentless brigade of insurance commercials.

Progressive (Flo, Brad, etc.) vs GEICO (Gecko, Pigs, etc.) are 2 of the top contenders. With this amount of advertising  there’s bound to be some entertaining ads amongst all of the super annoying ones. The pigs are annoying as hell, but GEICO may have something with their “Happier Than” series of commercials.

You’ve seen the witch out of her damn mind in the broom factory. You’ve seen Eddie Money running his travel agency, Gallagher wielding his over-sized sledgehammer at the Farmer’s Market, and even Dracula at a blood drive. There’s also the Pillsbury Dough Boy on his way to a baking convention.

Then there’s the obvious fan favorite Dikembe Mutombo blocking shots. That is near the very end of the “good” side of these commercials on their nonstop 10 minute intervals. I’m not sick of seeing it somehow and it’s still funny and entertaining.

Think about this format of commercials for a minute. Maybe even check out Geico’s official YouTube playlist of all 10 “Happier Than” series of commercials that have been released so far.

Now think about the humor possibilities. They’re not all hits, and not everyone will get all of them.
