As we all know, in this day and age our PCs (Specifically Microsoft Windows Computers for this column) are vulnerable to viruses, malware, dormant files, etc.
I’ve come up with a list of the best FREE tools to help your computer stay in tip top shape:
Anti-Virus
Recommendation: Windows Security Essentials. Directly from Microsoft that includes AntiVirus/Anti Spyware/Anti Malware

Programs Uninstaller
Recommendation: Revo Uninstaller. Removes junk files, remnants of programs and programs that won’t uninstall themselves

Malware Tools
Recommendation: Malware Bytes. Detection and removal of Malware. Even though Microsoft Security Essentials includes the malware remover, it’s always nice to have that 2nd option.

Browser
Recommendation: Google Chrome. Includes safe browsing, bookmark syncing and auto complete on sites before you finish typing them in (loading of the page)

Windows Update
As always, your computer should always be updated w/the latest software patches from Microsoft. This can be done manually or automatically.
