I have to thank ShezCrafti for posting about the Dork Horde’s Action Figure Nativity Contest yesterday.
By the way, her Baby Jesus Kraang scene is excellent.
Even though the deadline had passed, head Hordesman Reis O’Brien was gracious enough to let me submit a late entry. I raced home, created a manger with cardboard and shipping tape, created a fight with my 3 year old who understandably wanted to play with every figure I carefully placed, and created a not-so-festive memory of screaming, forced bathtime, and hurt feelings. But I got the picture!
I present to you, in all of its last-minute glory, the 2012 UnderScoopFire Action Figure Nativity:

What you’re looking at:
Mary = Miss Piggy as Princess Leia
Joseph = Roadblock (of course Joseph had to be a G.I. Joe)
Baby Jesus = Baby Hulk, and his first order of business was to “Baby Hulk smash” his LEGO Jesus crib
Shepherd = Deadpool, keeping his “farm animals” at bay with his swords
Farm animals = a wampa, a dewback, and tiny Bossk
The Angel = Quicksilver, who despite losing his wings, can still get some sweet air
and of course, the Three Wise Men:
So go vote for your favorite!! I’m not even going to ask you to vote for mine, since I realize it’s awful- but I had a blast creating it! (Even if I potentially ruined the holiday season for my son)
Merry Christmas!

Very nice! However, I find your lack of Transformers…..disturbing.
Marty – I’m with you. I have NONE of my vintage TFs from my childhood. That and M.A.S.K. are the properties that I had decent collections of but nothing to show for. Makes me sad to think about I probably would have included Jazz or Shockwave somehow.
Roadblock is married to a fat white woman (pig). I’m just gonna leave that right there for everyone to ponder…
All teasing aside, this was awesome!
Thanks Will! I almost had Luke Skywalker Kermit as Joseph, but I already had too much Star Wars, and a green dad might make it look possible that Baby Hulk Jesus was his, which we all know can’t be implied.
and am I the only one who thinks the lead singer raisin looks like Cee-Lo?
I’ve seen some great wise men.. but Howie, way to revisit the Claymation Christmas!!
I had three of the Toy Story aliens lined up as the wise men at first, then stumbled upon the raisins and pulled the switch. Glad you liked it!
That’s my favorite holiday special!
I don’t often throw around words like “breathtaking” but this is breathtaking.
too kind. *blush*
So so awesome. I\’m sure it hurts you to be reminded, but Quicksilver would look so much better with his wings. (Please don\’t hit me)
