From the very first frames of the Scooby Doo: Where Are You? opening theme (the bats flying in the foreground past the dimly lit mansion), the show never let up on the creepy imagery.

I guess you could say it got creepy “right off the bat” I’M SO SORRY.

If these guys aren’t still haunting your nightmares 30-40 years after seeing them as a kid, you should probably take another look. Because you’re always in the market to renew old, expired nightmares, right?

Here are 7 of the scariest images from the opening theme of Scooby Doo: Where Are You?

Glowing eye hole skull

Grabby ghost hand guy

Glowing diver dude

Red eye robot fella

Chinese opera mask bros

Zombie-phantom-Frankenstein-just throw them all together and scare kids shitless guy

This one was the worst- the way they stared at you as if all of this was your problem too

I did always think that robot with the red eyes was a little creepy.

That was the scariest one for me too (as a kid). I promise I didn’t pee my pants when I took the screenshot yesterday.

I think this could count as a League entry for the week too.
