Wife Pretty Hall of Fame Nominee: Gemma Arterton

American audiences might not know the name Gemma Arterton right now, but they should get used to hearing it in the near future. This British beauty, who celebrates her 26th birthday today, is a rising star.

After appearing in a couple of UK mini series and some supporting roles, Gemma got her first big break starring opposite Daniel Craig in the 2008 James Bond thriller, “Quantum of Solace.” She followed that up with a supporting role in the Richard Curtis comedy “Pirate Radio” then hit it big with major roles in “Clash of the Titans” and “The Prince of Persia” both released in 2010.

Fun fact about Gemma, she was born with polydactyly, which means instead of being born with ten fingers, she was born with an extra digit on each hand. But there is no need to crochet her a special pair of gloves for her birthday, for she had the extra fingers surgically removed when she was young.

So what’s next for this Bond girl? How about starring in a flick called “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters” with Jeremy Renner and Famke Janssen??? Its summary, per IMDB: “15 years after their traumatic gingerbread-house incident, siblings Hansel and Gretel have become a formidable team of bounty hunters who track and kill witches all over the world.” I smell a hit!

And UnderScoopFire smells a long and successful career for Ms. Arterton. Happy Birthday Gemma!
