It’s thought that the 80s were the years of some of the greatest musical bands of all time, and that statement wouldn’t be at all surprising if it was a fact. Although the original iteration of Queen and other popular bands have long since perished, there are a few remaining bands that are still producing excellent music to this day. Here is a list of 80s bands that are still having their impact on the music industry. You can keep tabs on the latest industry releases with Upbeat Geek, and never miss a beat.

Metallica

Formed in 1981, Metallica made an instant impression among heavy metal fans thanks to their unique style of heavy metal melodies. The band itself may well nearly be 40 years old, but that’s not stopping the famous heavy metal heads from going on tour in 2017. The band hasn’t released an album in a while now, but they do still tour heavily so they can present earth-shattering shows to their loyal following.

Green Day

The much-loved punk rock band, Green Day, was formed over 30 years ago in 1986. They have since taken the punk rock music industry by storm and still delight their audience with some of the most deafening music available. They aren’t ready to quit just yet and still feel they have a purpose to serve, which is why they are still releasing albums and going on tour to this day.

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Funk rock music doesn’t get much better than the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, does it? The American-based band formed their soon-to-be famous business in the heart of California and have now sold millions of copies of their albums around the world. The band was formed in the early 80s and it doesn’t look like they are ready to quit the music scene just yet, with tours and other albums on the horizon.

Bon Jovi

Technically, Bon Jovi isn’t classed as active as they haven’t played together since their last tour in 2013. However, Jon Bon Jovi himself is still performing multiple shows and continues to show his desire to be one of the best musicians there is. With hits such as It’s My Life and Livin’ on a Prayer, Bon Jovi will surely go down as one of the best rock bands of all time.

Radiohead

Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Ed O’Brien, Colin Greenwood, and Philip Selway formed Radiohead in the mid-80s and the alternative rock band is now one of the most well-known rock bands around the world thanks to some of their powerful songs and visually entertaining live performances. Radiohead released their debut single in 1992, after signing with EMI in 1991. With the help of services like Copycats CD duplication, Radiohead was able to market their music and go on to be one of the most influential bands on the alternative rock scene.

Some bands don’t last long whereas others like the above last for decades. It’s unlikely the bands will last for another decade, but they’ll almost certainly go down in history as some of the greatest bands that have ever graced the stage.
