The bunny has come to symbolize Easter just as Santa embodies Christmas, Leprechauns signal St. Patty’s Day, and Jason Sudeikis signifies good fortune.

This Easter we celebrate by bringing you the 22 best bunnies in the history of movies, TV, comics, toys, cartoons and more.

22. Jaxxon

This smuggler from the Star Wars Universe was a member of the Lepi species, his homeworld being Coachella Prime. His WUD-500 starship is called.. wait for it.. The Rabbit’s Foot. Obviously.

Turns out Bucky O’Hare isn’t the only green bunny on the scene. More on that later.

21. Thumper

One of the more popular “meetable characters” at the Disney parks and resorts, Thumper originally had a minor role in Bambi. The movie seemed to have too serious a tone and thus was un-marketable to kids, so Thumper’s role was expanded. His personality and design were based on Beatrix Potter’s Benjamin Bunny.

20. E.B. (Hop)

Hilariously voiced by Russell Brand, E.B. was destined to become the next Easter Bunny but instead chose to play the drums (which he was awesome at) and pretend to be a stuffed animal so he could get all up on Kaley Cuoco and smell her hair. He also poops jellybeans.

19. Hip Hop

This short-lived 76ers mascot sadly didn’t debutin time to make NBA Jam.

18. The Noid

Is the noid a bunny? He does have the ears, but that’s about it. While doing my bunny research for this, he surfaced as a fictional rabbit. Oh well, if he does count as a bunny and makes this list, we all loved the Noid back in the mid 80s. A claymation commercial classic!

This was another guy that had a ton of merchandise for being the Domino’s Pizza mascot, including his very own NES game! Voiced by Pons Maar AKA Saurod from the Masters of the Universe movie!

17. Plundor the Spoiler

This pink bunny is the main antagonist in what is undoubtedly the trippiest episode of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, 1983’s “Quest for He-Man”. Plundor was nicknamed “the Spoiler” because he sapped the life force of his strange planet and concentrated it into a green liquid in a single beaker worth millions (or so he claims).

He’s only been in one episode, but he’s remembered by many and anticipated in MOTU Classics’ Filmation subscription.

16. Jackalope

A mythological creature of folklore, it’s supposedly a rabbit with antlers. Most people will remember this guy from America’s Funniest Home Videos’ spinoff, “America’s Funniest People”. Who else but Joey Gladstone could provide his Mr. Woodchuck-like voice?

15. The White Rabbit

Alice in Wonderland’s bunny on the run, always late for an important date (perhaps a mad tea party?) with his pocket watch by his side.

This bunny is so memorable not only is he a “meetable character” at Disney Parks, he also has a Jefferson Airplane song of his very name which is equally as trippy as his story he originates from:

14. Peter Cottontail

Famous for the “Here comes Peter Cottontail” Easter holiday song. Is this another bunny named Peter? A rip-off of Beatrix Potter’s original Peter Rabbit? Or are they one in the same? I’ve always wondered this and I still don’t know to this day.

13. Roger Rabbit

Nowadays it seems more people remember Jessica Rabbit than Roger, the titular character of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” (one can obviously see why).

She’s definitely right up there with the Little Mermaid’s Ariel when it comes to cartoon redheads. Maybe this entry should’ve been Jessica Rabbit after all…

12. Buster and Babs Bunny

Ah yes, Steven Spielberg Presents Tiny Toon Adventures! A 1990 cartoon favorite with a catchy theme song and memorable characters. Buster is Bugs Bunny’s 1990s blue bunny protegé and Babs was his pink bunny GF who was a hell of an impersonator (seriously, check out her Cher).

Tiny Toons had a crazy run in the 90s in cartoons and especially video games where Buster and Babs were usually the main character tag team.

11. Playboy Bunny

More of a hottie in a costume or an iconic logo than an actual bunny, it’s too well known of a “bunny” to not be included. Especially when you take a look at who could be under those ears.

I think Usagi deserves a little more credit than being TMNT’s buddy. I know most people might know him from there but he was pretty successful on his own. If Bucky’s show had done better, Usagi might have gotten his own show.

Such an outstanding list!! Very comprehensive.

The only one that came to mind which was missing is the animated rabbit that dances with Michael Jackson in the “Speed Demon” video. http://youtu.be/l039y9FaIjc

I suppose we also could’ve added Greg the Bunny and Mr. Floppy. Wasn’t really a fan of them so they didn’t come to me. Screw that Bobcat Goldtwait voice. lol

I was coming here to complain this list didn’t have Usagi Yojimbo, but I stand corrected. Now I’m kind of disappointed I don’t have anything to complain about, so I have to make something up:

Why isn’t Usagi Yojimbo number one??

The Jackalope is serious sleeper on this big board. Fun list.

Oh, and the Bunny Song from Vegetales for the honorable mentions…
