11 Funko Pop! Figures We REALLY Hope They Come Out With Soon

When Funko announced plans to release Golden Girls Pop! figures (and ReAction figures) in 2016, they proved that no television or movie property is off limits. In reality, they had already proven this, but something about the thought of Dorothy, Blanche, Rose and Sophia as Funko Pop! figures made me realize that it’s only a matter of time before they’ve Funko-fied everything I’ve ever loved (and I couldn’t be happier about it).

Here are the next 11 characters and properties we’d LOVE to see as Funko Pop! figures:

Funko Pop! ¡Three Amigos!

Funko has already given the Pop! treatment to many 80s films, including Ghostbusters, Back to the Future and Beetlejuice. The Amigos may not be as big as the Breakfast Club, but it’s their turn. If Dodgeball can have Funko Pop! figures, Lucky, Dusty and Ned deserve their shot. We’ve already seen what Chevy Chase looks like as a Funko Pop! (Clark Griswold), so just slap a sombrero and a mariachi suit on him and ship to stores.

Funko Pop! Spaceballs and Funko Pop! Jem

We’ve seen Funko Pop! G.I. Joe, so Jem and the Holograms are a natural next step for Funko Pop! treatment. The 30 minute animated show was a joint collaboration by Hasbro, Marvel Productions and Sunbow Productions, the same as their Real American Hero brethren. Funko Pop! Misfits are a must as well.

Jem and Spaceballs by CBeeProject

Spaceballs, Mel Brooks’ 1987 Star Wars parody, provides a host of visually unique characters that would look great as Funko Pop! figures. Imagine a wave featuring Dark Helmet (below), Barf, Captain Lone Starr, Princess Vespa and Dot Matrix (above).

Funko Pop! Knight Rider

I’d assume this would be part of the Pop! Rides line, which has featured such memorable pop culture vehicles as the ’66 Batmobile, the DeLorean, Ecto-1 and the Breaking Bad RV. Funko Pop! Michael Knight would be so rad with his black leather jacket and wrist communicator, and that Funko KITT would be incredible.

They’ve announced a Funko Pop! McGyver, so things like Funko Pop! Knight Rider and Funko Pop! A-Team CAN’T be far behind.

Funko Pop! Clue

Even if Funko released Pop! figures of all of the characters from the Clue movie, that would be one plus one plus two plus one, not one plus two plus one plus one- however you do the math, we need Funko Pop! Clue figures faster than you can say “Communism was a red herring”.

Funko Pop! Mike Tyson’s Punch Out

Funko has released a ton of video game-based Pop! figures under their Pop! Games line, both modern and retro. The retro influence continues in 2016 with the announced Funko Pop! Pac-Man and Mega Man figures. Now we just need a Funko Pop! Soda Popinski.

Funko Pop! Silverhawks

If you’ve been to this site before you knew the Silverhawks would be on this list. Funko Pop! released a line of Thundercats a while back, so the Silverhawks license can’t be impossible to acquire. I need this, Funko.

Funko Pop! Princess Bride

Six months ago, someone asked the Official Funko Pop! Twitter account if Funko Pop! Princess Bride figures would ever happen. They replied with a tongue-in-cheek “as you wish”, but followed with a more pragmatic “hopefully”. We can only hope these figures go from INCONCEIVABLE to ON TOY SHELVES as soon as possible.

Funko Pop! Friday Night Lights

Button eyes, over-sized deformed head, can’t lose! With Arrow, Breaking Bad and Buffy the Vampire Slayer Funko Pop! figures in their catalog, Funko has proven they can appreciate a good hour-long drama. The Firefly Funko Pop! figures also prove that a show doesn’t necessarily have to have been long-lived to get the Pop! treatment. Although Friday Night Lights did give us five glorious seasons, it just feels like it was gone so quickly.

Funko Pop! Greatest American Hero

We’ve mentioned enough 80s properties here to sufficiently make our case for a Funko Pop! Greatest American Hero, but I’ll submit Voltron and The Munsters as two more examples of nothing being off limits for the folks at Funko.

Hopefully the upcoming Phil Lord and Chris Miller Greatest American Hero reboot will generate some curiosity and nostalgia for the original and spark some interest at Funko. Ralph Hinkley would make an incredible ReAction figure as well.

Funko Pop! M.A.S.K.

Hasbro has demonstrated that where the G.I. Joe license goes these days, M.A.S.K. might not be far behind. While there was some commotion surrounding M.A.S.K. trademarks and patents recently, we haven’t seen the results of this activity yet. Let’s hope M.A.S.K. Funko Pop! figures are one of the first waves of merchandise to support the Mobile Armored Strike Kommand resurgence.

While we’re on the Hasbro thing, can we get some more G.I. Joe Funko Pop! characters? I love my Cobra Commander, Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes and Roadblock, but wouldn’t Destro and Zartan just be amazing? I know we’ll never get characters like Outback and Sci-Fi, but I can probably pretend this is Chuckles:
