The internet is full of opinionated Star Wars fans, this we know. This particular fan has started a campaign to ensure Episode VII continues the tradition of hirsuteĀ mentor Jedi:

I will make this as simple and straightforward as I can. Mark Hamill should grow a beard for the Star Wars film. His beard is majestic. He is a majestic bearded man when he has a beard. This is all.

I’ve got to admit, when I saw the image they posted as “proof”, I bought in hard. This needs to happen. That’s just all there is to it:

It makes sense for so many reasons, when you consider Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and the fact that he looks 98% more badass WITH the beard.

Yes, absolutely. But considering he didn’t have one in the cast shot, I hope they do a better job than they did with Qui-Gon’s Magic Mustache.

considering the “they” in your comment is different this time around, I hope they do a better job in the facial hair dept. But I guess ‘hope’ is all we have right about now am I right?
