With Bill Hader’s SNL swan song officially in the books, we all look forward to his future projects. Hader brings value to everything he’s involved in- whether it’s a starring role or a cameo, audiences are always pleased to see him. Think for a moment- do you know anyone who doesn’t like Bill Hader?

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve turned something on, only to have Hader pop up and invoke the “Ah! I forgot Hader was in this!” reaction.

Hader is/isn’t rumored to be attached to the upcoming Baywatch reboot, playing the Mitch Buchanon/Hasselhoff role. While we figure that out, and look forward to his other upcoming projects- let’s take a look back at some things you might have forgotten Bill Hader was in.

You, Me and Dupree

2006′s You, Me and Dupree is one of those films that you come across on cable from time to time, and it can definitely suck you in every time. While most will remember the film as starring Owen Wilson, Kate Hudson and Matt Dillon, and a quick recall of the secondary characters brings Seth Rogen to mind (how can we forget him rummaging through Carl’s trashed porn stash?), Bill Hader played the equally entertaining but often overlooked Mark.

Just before Megan Mullally recommended Lorne Michaels hire him, Bill Hader was a field agent on MTV’s Punk’d. His shining moment: convincing Ashlee Simpson she had ruined a priceless painting.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Bill Hader is the voice behind the video game announcer in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. His involvement was kept under wraps during production.

Knocked Up

Like many movies Bill Hader has appeared in, there’s just so much talent packed into the cast he was bound to be forgotten. Hader plays Brent in Knocked Up, and doesn’t appear within the first 15 cast members listed on its IMDB page. The star power in this film was copious, and Hader gets lost in the shuffle. NOT to be lost in the shuffle however, his impression of Jabba the Hutt dying.

Hot Rod

Bill Hader plays Dave, one of the main character’s ne’er-do-well cronies in Andy Samberg’s Hot Rod. Without recently watching it, I primarily remember Danny McBride as one of Rod Kimble’s friends, and I remember Lonely Island band-mate Jorma Taccone playing his brother. Isla Fisher was hat as ever in this film, and Will Arnett stole every scene he was in.

Star Trek Into Darkness

OK, so maybe you didn’t forget this one as much as not know. Bill Hader is credited as a “voice” under “Additional Voices” in this month’s Star Trek Into Darkness, the second installment of JJ Abrams “NuTrek”.  Hader voices the computer on the USS Vengeance.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Mention this movie to me and I will instantly recall Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell’s dueling hotness, Russell Brand’s character being so hilarious they spun him off into his own film, and Jason Segel’s penis. Only when I actually watch it do I recall Bill Hader playing Segel’s brother.

Grand Theft Auto IV

Hader is credited as a voice in 2008′s Grand Theft Auto IV video game.

I remember Bill Hader being featured prominently in the trailers for Adventureland. I left feeling a bit misled, and not remembering it as a movie featuring Bill Hader.

Tropic Thunder

With a cast that featured Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey, Jr., Matthew McConaughey, Jay Baruchel, Tom Cruise, and Nick Nolte, it’s no surprise we forget Bill Hader was in Tropic Thunder as well.

      Hot Rod is SO underrated.

  • Lamar the Revenger

Yes about Hot Rod. I have a hard time believing the STID thing.

  • Plenty Lancaster

Wasn’t he also in Pineapple express? In the opening scene? I think that was him.

    • Howard Decker

yep! I left that and Superbad off, figuring most people remembered he was in them (especially Superbad- his most recognizable movie role to date)

He was also the lead voice in “Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs” which was a pretty cool movie! Looking forward to the sequel!

    • Howard Decker

Yeah I might need to check that out. Have you seen it? Appropriate for a 4 yo?

      • http://www.williambrucewest.com Will

CWACOM is SUCH a great movie! Even if a 4 yo doesn’t get all that’s going on, they’ll love the visuals of food raining down on the Earth, and people comically running from it. He’ll love it!

        • Howard Decker

Ok, we’ll check it out for sure. Thanks Will!

      • http://www.robreed.com rob

“Cloudy” is definitely 4-year old appropriate.

        • Howard Decker

I appreciate that Rob. We’ll check it out soon!

  • Tim

He was also the chief in Year One

    • Howard Decker

I ALMOST listed that, but I figured my wife and I were two of the only 14 people who saw it, and said nevermind. Funny movie though, if you’re a fan of Cera and/or Black. Thanks for the comment!

  • Jared

He was also Private Miller in Pineapple Express.

    • Jared

nvm just saw your reply to the other guy. haha

      • Pete Donegan

and everyone forgot about South Park. He’s a head writer/voice actor along with Matt and Trey

        • Howard Decker

          Good point!
